Getting My Day Under Control
July 19th 2026
PERSONAL STORY
We believe communities built on similar people-empowering values are stronger together. And that’s what our collaboration with Tiimo, iPhone App of the Year 2025, is all about. To show it’s not just us, it’s also you, here’s Matt! Matt is a blogger, tech enthusiast and kickboxer who has been using both of our apps to manage his days better.
How long have you been using Tiimo and Gentler Streak, and how did you first discover them?
I’ve been using Tiimo for a few months now, after stumbling upon it on Threads. I was looking for a simple to-do app that would help me stay focused on my tasks while still being friendly and intuitive.
As for Gentler Streak, it’s one of my main sports tracking apps, and I’ve been using it almost daily for the past few years. I first discovered it through an online review on an Apple news site, decided to give it a try—and now it’s my daily hub for tracking body metrics and reviewing my training.
Before discovering these apps, what felt hardest about taking care of yourself consistently?
The biggest struggle was consistency. Traditional planners and habit trackers made me feel like a failure if I missed a day or deviated from the plan. It was all-or-nothing, and as someone who juggles kickboxing, running, writing, and life’s curveballs in general, I realized I didn’t need that kind of pressure from an app. I needed tools that adapted to me, not the other way around.
If you had to describe Tiimo in three words, what would they be?
Visual. Adaptable. Humanic.
And Gentler Streak?
Mindful. Encouraging. Balanced.

What’s one thing Tiimo has changed about the way you plan your day?
Tiimo turned my to-do list from a source of anxiety into a source of clarity. The color-coded, drag-and-drop interface lets me see my day at a glance—workouts, writing deadlines, even downtime—without the guilt of not sticking to a rigid schedule. It’s like having a coach that says, “Hey, it’s okay to move that run to tomorrow.”
What’s one thing Gentler Streak has changed about the way you think about activity, rest, or recovery?
It taught me that rest is part of the streak. Before, I’d push through exhaustion, thinking I’d “break the chain” if I skipped a day. Gentler Streak reframed recovery as essential—not lazy. Now, I celebrate rest days as much as I do my 10K runs or kickboxing sessions. I also love how it simply presents my body metrics every morning. They’re almost 100% accurate in reflecting how I feel and how my day will shape up.
Do Tiimo and Gentler Streak complement each other in your life? If so, how?
Absolutely. Tiimo is my macro planner—big-picture goals, deadlines, and priorities. Gentler Streak is my micro accountability partner, keeping me consistent with daily habits like stretching, hydration, or just taking a moment to breathe. Together, they cover the spectrum: from the 30,000-foot view to the tiny, mindful steps.
Is there anything about the design, language, or overall experience of either app that keeps you coming back?
Yes—the tone. Both apps avoid the sterile, corporate vibe of most productivity tools. Tiimo’s playful colors and inclusive language (clearly designed with neurodiversity in mind) make planning feel friendly. Gentler Streak’s warm, almost poetic reminders (“You’re doing great, even on rest days”) make it feel like a cheerleader, not a drill sergeant.
Do you ever wish Tiimo and Gentler Streak worked together more closely? If so, how?
I’d love a two-way sync between them. Imagine if Tiimo’s calendar could pull in Gentler Streak’s habit data—so I could see my planned runs and my recovery streaks in one place. Or if Gentler Streak could nudge me based on Tiimo’s schedule (e.g., “You’ve got a heavy training day tomorrow—rest up!“). That’d be a game-changer.
What would be harder if Tiimo disappeared tomorrow?
Losing Tiimo overnight would leave me scrambling to find another app that balances structure and simplicity so well. It’s become my go-to for staying on top of tasks without the stress.
And what would be harder if Gentler Streak disappeared tomorrow?
I’d genuinely feel like I’d lost a good friend. Losing that gentle accountability would be tough—it’s the only app that’s ever made me want to track habits because it feels like self-care, not a chore.
